Huntley and Palmers Very Rare " Lusitania" Tin Commemorating The Maiden Voyage "EXPORT MARKET" Produced in 1908
CollectingCollectables.com are selling the Lusitania, which is one of the rarest and collectable Huntley and Palmers tins on the market today.
Huntley and Palmers produced this tin to commemorative the maiden voyage of the Lusitania of the previous year. Produced solely for the US export market, and numbering just 20,000 of these tins.
Measuring an impressive 9.50 x 3.75 x 2.75 inches (approx). The lid of the tin bears an artistic impression of the Lusitania departing New York harbour, with the Statue of Liberty to the background, bound for England. To the sides are 4 artistic impressions of the interior of the Lusitania.
There is wear to the tin, which can be seen in the photographs, but this commemorative tin has survived extremely well being complete, without dents, and the underside bearing the Huntley and Palmer logo, the Royal Warrants and other associated details including:
"By Appointment to His Majesty King Edward VII"
being clearly visible.
